We went down to Columbus for Larry's checkup today, and the doctor said that everything is looking great with Larry. He goes back in March.

We're back from Columbus, and Larry's checkup with the lung doctor went good every thing's still the same. He don't have to go back to her until May 2012.

As of this month Larry has been in Total REMISSION for three years! He goes down to see the doctor 10/21/2011, and he is going to have his ports removed that day also.

Larry has been doing just fine. He's going in for his sleep study this Friday night.

Larry's going down to Columbus today to see the lung doctor. I'll let you all know what she has to say when we get back! This is just a checkup! He's been doing ok just has his good days and bad days.

The lung doctor said that everything is about the same. She would like him to do a sleep study to see if there's anything going on there. He goes back in three months to see her.

The doctor said that everything is looking good, and all his numbers are were he likes to see them. He goes back down to see the doctor in August.

Larry's first day back to work went fine. He was very tired, but he did ok.

We just got back from seeing the doctor down in Columbus, and the doctor is releasing him to go back to work. He said that he's looking good. Larry called work and is going back on Monday. Please keep him in your prayers!

Larry had his last treatment on Friday, and he will be seeing the doctor on the 18th. He is hoping to get to go back to work soon, so please keep him in your Prayers.

Larry had a very bad yesterday. We went down to Columbus for his treatment and to see the doctor. The doctor don't know for sure what is going on with Larry. He is doing better today. The doctor is going to do two more treatments then stop them. He was hoping to get back to work, but the doctor said not yet.

Just got back from Larry's treatment in Columbus today. Now we start just going down once a week, so keep him in your Prayers that he'll keep on getting better.

After 4/1/2011 Larry will be start going down to Columbus just once a week. The doctor said that his blood work is still looking good. He did a little change on his meds but not much. See the doctor again in four weeks.

All of Larry's med's are making him very sick today. Not a good day for him. He has had 16 treatments now. We see the doctor on Wednesday the 23rd and hope he can take him off some of them.

We got back home from Columbus ok. The roads were very bad. We started for home at 5:00pm and got home at 8:20pm. 8{ Larry is still having stomach trouble. The heartburn and acid indigestion it still going on every day.Go back down for treatment on Thursday.

The doctor up Larry's nexium twice daily to see if that will help. We go back to see him in 3 to 4 weeks. The treatments are going well.

Back home from Columbus, and everything went fine. Larry's seems to be doing better. Hopefully we'll know more next week when he sees the doctor. Go back down to Columbus again Friday.

We're back home, and every thing went good Thursday and Friday with Larry's treatments. He's starting to feel a little better, so we hope that the treatments are starting to work on the GVHD.

Every thing went good with Larry's treatment today. He's feeling a little better. We can't thank you enough for all your prayers and support that every one has been giving us.

Every thing went very good today with Larry got home at 9:00pm long day. Go back down tomorrow. A doctor told Larry today that they are having good results with this kind of treatment. There are 24 of these treatments. We got one down and 23 more to go. 8}

OMG the roads were very bad going, and coming home from Columbus today. Left the hospital at 4:00pm and got home at 8:45pm. The doctor didn't have to much to say today, but he's backing off on his anti-immune system Meds., because of all his trimmers and shaking going on with him. Go back in four weeks.

This is what we found out what Larry has. We'll be on the road a lot for his treatments to try and stop the GVHD.

Pulmonary Graft Versus Host Disease
This is what's going on with Larry. After allogeneic (from another person) stem cell transplantation, it is possible for the transplanted cells to react with the body. Usually this is in organs such as the skin, gastrointestinal tract and liver; but the lung can also be a target. This is referred to as chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD). The most common from of chronic lung GVHD is called Bronchiolitis Obliterans.

Bronchiolitis Obliterans is a disease that results in scarring and narrowing of the airways. About 8-25% of people may develop some from of this after this type of transplant.

Complications
Patients with bronchiolitis or lung GVHD may have a risk of collapsed lung or pneumothorax. This is when air gets around the lung instead of inside the lung and causes problems. Symptoms of this may be suddenly feeling very short of breath or having chest pain on one side of the chest.

Frequent infections or flare-ups can be a problem when you have chronic lung disease. You may need antibiotics or a short course of steroids if this happens.

Treatment
Although there is not a cure for bronchiolitis obliterans, there are several treatments that can make you feel better, lessen your symptoms, and help you do more activity.

We're back home from Columbus, and everything went really good. The two ports are in place. We go down to Columbus tomorrow to see the lung specialist. I will let you know what we find out.
